and then, IT SNOWED!

9 inches!  The kids (and maybe us too) were ecstatic about it.  They were calling for a few just a couple of inches but the snow just kept falling.  It was beautiful.  It was also on a Saturday, so we played, and then life went on and we headed to a birthday party that afternoon. We're definitely NOT in the South anymore.

Beautiful Iowa Fall

Well Iowa in the fall did not disappoint.  My yard was gorgeous!  look at our trees!

and the kids wanted so badly to play in the leaves, we took one Sunday afternoon, skipped nap and went outside to have some fun.  Davis loved it, Macky was curious, Holden was too busy playing all over the yard to even get in a picture and my little artist just wanted to sit and draw the leaves :)

HOW WE DO OCTOBER

Love this shot of my boys playing legos.  We don't let D play with Holden's legos often--so many little pieces that can get forever lost, but he gets so excited when he gets to do it.  He can barely get his chin above the table... but wants to be BIG like brother SO BAD.
headwear and fun with Macky Mack
and WOW.  one of my faves, right?

big cardboard boxes and good friends are the best fun!
my morning bed buddy loving on his very own "meow"
and another golden photo of these two...
lunch with daddy is so much fun!
and a pumpkin decorating party with some friends from church

Movie Night: Fall Edition

We have movie night every friday night.  During the fall months we moved the movie outside with the projector, started up the fire pit and had some fun:)  We even had some friends over a couple of times to join us. Who can resist s'mores anyway?

Trick or Treat: Bettendorf Style

Trick or Treating was a lot of fun this year.  The town we live in is super cute, family oriented and everyone knows each other.  It had been a rainy day, but there was a break in the weather just in time for the scheduled trick or treating and EVERYONE was out.  Whole families walked together, neighbors were talking on all of the corners.  All the houses were decorated and homeowners were waiting on the porch ready to hand out candy.  There were kids everywhere just like you see on TV and even better all the kids knew each other from school.  We saw many of N & H's classmates. I figured we go out and do a block or two then go back to the house, but it was so much fun we trick or treated until dark.  What's even better?  Everyone abided by the rules and there were no late night doorbell rings as we were trying to get the kids in bed.  So nice!
