Well I just told my friend the other day that i was giving up on making another book list this year...but i just can't do it. I've been inspired by a few other book posts and here i am doing it again. Admittedly, i'm ashamed of my reading this past year. The quantity was poor--and really i didn't accomplish much other than pleasure reading and some parenting books. Alas, i'm giving myself a break--it was a busy year.
This year's list is more of a selection of books i think sound good and would like to read--they are my "hopefuls". No Pressure. Just room to enjoy, relax and be proud of what I have made time to read.
I'm already feeling good about this. So good in fact that i'm getting ready to go on a hunt for my Kindle charger (yep, it's dead as a doornail) and apply for a NC Library Card.

2012 Bookshelf
I love to read. This year i started off strong, made a list for the year and tried my best to stick to it. For about six months i did pretty well, and then Mike came home. STOP. NO MORE BOOKS. Embarrassing kind of. Except not really, because what's better than busy with the ones you love.
I'm getting back into it though--i've been feeling the itch-- and I've made a less ambitious list this year. 2011's list was pretty extensive and considering our move coming up in a few months, i believe i may be quite busy with things other than reading.
So here's the new list:

A Love for Books
My prayer is that this will be a lasting friendship...my children and their books. Reading has always been a part of who i am....my way to learn, my source of entertainment, and my escape. I only hope that my children will grow up to appreciate literature the way that i do!

Here's a pic of Mike on Skype--its what we were doing while the kiddos were reading. We hadn't skyped since we we left Hawaii to go home for Christmas, so it was nice to "hang out" for the morning, even though it was actually late night for Mike and he had an early morning ahead. He must love us!

Have You Read This?
If not you should. Entertaining. Engrossing. Thought-Provoking. Haunting. The last book in this trilogy just came out last week and i am still thinking about it 2 days after reading it. I highly recommend these books!
