Sweet Sickies

I've not been very good at getting Davis to his well-baby appointments on time...we get there...just 3-6 months late :) So i finally had made an appt for him and 4 weeks later on the morning of our appt, Davis wakes up with a fever and diarrhea.  I don' t think he's been sick once since this past winter.  So of course our well-baby appt turned into a sick baby appt...and i'm even MORE behind.

he took a few days to really recover and over a week to eat normally again, but that first day of sickies however was so very pitiful...but i haven't had snuggles like that in forever.  I captured the day with tons of pictures...your shocked, i'm sure.

Under the Weather

We had a few weeks of constant sickies this winter.  This just meant a lot of resting, a lot of tears, a lot of medicine and the one upside... a lot of snuggles.

yep.  holden didn't really get sick this year.  lucky boy :)

Don't Catch the Sicky

the origin is unknown and really quite irrevalent at this point but first it was Holden, then the Momma (me), the Sister Norabird, and now it looks to be attacking Auntie Hill...Friend Jack and Daddy you guys better watch out!

Here's Holden and Mike on Sunday:
- even though the logic is off--I can't really miss Sunday's since I teach--Holden was sick so he stayed home as to not spread the sickies to the rest of the church while the healthy parent, Daddy, stayed home to take care of him. Sick parent (me again), took healthy child, Nora, to church. When we got home, Daddy and Holden were curled up watching the world series on the couch. There's some serious bonding time involved with the sickies--we call that a silver lining :)

and notice our stuffed kitty: also named Ollie for its resemblance to the real Oliver. Stuffed Ollie happens to be a lot more loveable. ;) Thanks Nana.

Sicky Day

This is a little old now, but i found the pics and can't help but devote a little bloggy to it.

We were having some trouble with Nora vomiting before we came home and had to have some blood taken. Everything came back looking normal, and eventually she quit throwing up, but the blood taking experience was about the most awful thing we've had to do thus far--both in her own life as well as in my life as a mommy!

The poor little girl's arm is so teeny tiny and there are definitely no veins in sight, it took 4, yes that is right, 4 sticks to hit a vein. And then, it wasn't even just a stick, but digging and searching with the needle in her little arm. I have never heard her scream quite like that and she has definitely done some screaming in her little life. I held it together for 2 sticks but with the third i was crying too as she was looking at me while i was holding her down like "mom, why are you letting them do this?"

The nurses finally called in some specialist from another part of the hospital. He thankfully was successful on the first try...i don't think mine heart, nor Norabird's little arms could take it anymore.

Here's her aftershot pictures so that everyone else can feel sorry for her too.

those eyes can just break your heart...

Sicky Baby

We had a sicky baby this past week... you know your wiggly, wired, never misses a thing baby doesn't feel good when she lays herself on the couch and falls asleep while brother is eating dinner. Isn't it just pitiful? No worries though, she's feeling much better and back into everything. I must selfishly admit, my first sweet cuddles with a sick child who just wants to be held by mommy was one of the sweetest moments i've ever experienced.

Feeling Yucky

So the whole household has been sick with a cold this week..we're getting better, but that's whats been going on, and the reason for the slow blogging week. Hopefully i'll catch up some this weekend. It's totally past my bedtime right now!

Here's a cute pic from today with Grandma and the babies.
