Play Date Out

We spent our usual Wed play date with the triplets last week at the park. As usual it was a beautiful day. here are the triplets with mom, Kristi. Thankfully there was a shady spot near the swings...cause that sand gets hot!
Brooklynn and Holden looking a bit concerned about something
Nora and Ben cooling off
He just loves to swing..higher the better
our Larson friends...Blake, Brooke and Ben with Auntie Kristi
girl time
i just love this happy baby
all 5
Brooke wanted Nora's paci and Nora wanted her bow...so they traded
i love her
although she's got a pretty smile...she has been a little weary of the swing, as with most things involving the feeling of "falling". we gotta keep the swing low and slow for her

laughing at Auntie Kristi--he thinks she is so funny! and here is Blake trying to break out of the park...he's the jet-setter of the group....always the first to do everything!

10 Months Old

Today was our 10 Month Birthday....so Mommy wanted to take us to experience something new...

This month, in honor of Oktoberfest, we had a German meal at Zippy's. Quite the contradiction. Mom doesn't like to eat there on a normal day, but in honor of our Auntie Britta from Holland, we wanted to try this supposedly "German" meal. We thought the sausages looked a whole lot like hotdogs, but what do we know? We're just 10 months old. We did however enjoy the sauerkraut...it went great with our bananas and oatmeal!

Sis trying the kraut

and here we are with our Auntie Marybeth and friends Lily and Evan..we can't wait until we are big enough to run around with them! They are so much fun to watch!

After lunch we went with Auntie Britta, Evan and Lily to the park. They knew about a secret park that has baby swings. There were only 2 swings and 3 babies, so we shared. Sister was kinda squished back there, but she was laughing so I guess she was okay!
Mommy took us on our first slide--I had a great time, but sister wasn't so sure about it. Sometimes falling is scary for her.

here we are with our friends, Evan showed us how to play in the sand

Sister didn't listen to Evan though, she thought she would eat the sand instead of play in it, I think she's kinda nuts.

see?

here sister is telling mom not to worry about it

but then she sorta got choked...i tried to tell her it wasn't a smart move

see...she shoulda listened to me

not too happy about that sand

Here she is trying to tell Mom that she needed some help, but mom just kept taking pictures.

Mommy loves her even though she's a mess, that's what Mommy's are for.

Then silly Sister went and kissed Mommy ...Mommy didn't seem to mind too much, she must really like Sister. This is my "don't even think about kissing me with that dirty face" look. I'm not stup, i'm 10 months old!

Rebel Swings

You may have saw in an earlier post that we had a great time swinging at Grandpa Burns house while we were home. Well we decided we had a great place to do it and even if it was against all the silly association rules, we'll try it out anyway.

So we bought two swings and Mike rigged it all up so i can easily put the swings up/take them down as needed. Still the hooks are permanent pieces of the porch now, which is also against association rules--so we'll see how long this lasts. Hopefully it will take a year or so for them to notice!

Here's Mike after he hung them up.... and we just had to try them out....Nora seems a bit curious about what is going on

Day 19

Today was Sam's day. He is off of work every other Wednesday so we have been taking advantage of those day's. Our friend Renee and her daughter Allie stayed an extra day with us so they came to hang out at Papaw Sam's as well.

The highlight of the day was the swing on the porch. The swing is actually Cousin Emory's, but our babies loved it! I wish we had a place to hang a swing at our house, but our silly association doesn't allow anything to 'hang' in our yard or on our porch. It's really the most irritating rule ever--and even more irritating now that i know how much the babies enjoyed it.

Allie really liked the dog, Chelsea--she has a few dogs of her own and one of them is HUGE (giant schnauzer/english mastiff mix) so she wasn't afraid of Chelsea at all. I loved this pic of the two of them!Aunt Kelly and Cousin Madison came to hang out after Madison got out of school--it was her last day of school and we are very proud of our 3rd grade graduate! We all went to dinner together that night at Kabuko. My friend Megan from college and her husband Thomas also came met us, so we had a whole table to ourselves. Mike and I have the opportunity to eat lots of Asian food, but the Japanese steakhouse's in Hawaii are not like the ones here. I am pretty certain the ones here are less authentic than what's in HI, but still we like what we like and WE LOVE white sauce so we were excited to go to Kabukos. It was also a good place to take the babies because with so much going on they had plenty to watch and keep them busy.

Here is Nora and Aunite Megan watching the big fire on the table jumping laps...now Nora is eyeing Papaw Sam's food!
Me and Meggo..i love her!

Right when we were putting the babies down for bed, Nanny Katie came to visit. She caught Holden in a REALLY HAPPY moment...they were cute!
After the babies were in bed, Mike went to go play video games with Katie's husband and dad, and Katie and I hung out doing our usual silliness...it was good to just be Jessi for a little while...instead of Mom (even though i love being mommy more than anything!) and it was really good to spend some time with such a good friend--although we are obviously getting older because we both suffered the next day as a consequence of our late night excursions!
