A Very COOL Third Birthday!

We had the twins birthday party this past weekend.  Lots of family were able to come, as well as some old and new friends.  The twins had been talking about their party for days and were very very excited about it.

The Sweatlands were nice enough to take the twins the morning of the party so that we could decorate.    The party was a winter theme...being that is was on Dec 1st and I was able to incorporate both girl/boy colors, it was an appropriate and fun theme.

Arriving to their party... very excited already

Party Kids
Jack's birthday is the day before the twins.. they're "almost triplets"
 Poppy and Holden
Uncle Jake eating at the kids table
after lunch the kids went outside to play on the swingset and jumper..the weather was fantastic and it was surprisingly warm.
Holden walking with Grandpa...a cute pic, especially with the party hat!
 Neighbor friends ...
Charis
 and DJ
Our cakes were made by Grandma Anne.  She's pretty fabulous at making cakes...we had an igloo cake for the kids and then a snowflake cake for the adults
 look how cute!
The Before:  they love it!
The During: Master Candle Blowers
The After:  Grabbing the Candle right after it was blown out..bad idea!
yeah, she cried about this for a while, and the whole scene is played out a few different videos.  Nora has a habit of wanting to grab the candle right away and put it in her mouth.  we've scolded her many times for it, but this time she may have learned her lesson with a real burn to her hand...better her hand than her mouth though, yes?

Davis watching the birthday ceremonies...taking notes!
Jack really enjoyed the ice cream cone trees!

Nora in her new Birthday Princess gear
Our neighbors have 2 kids, Charis and Bryce.  Charis is almost exactly a year younger than the twins and Bryce is 4 days younger than Davis.
Look how cute these baby boys are!

Birthday Friends
The kids had a great time and played their hearts out...they were exhausted that night but were so sweet and repeatedly told us "thank you for my party".  Just love my little 3 Year Olds!

The Day The Twins Turned Three

The night before Mike and I commenced Operation Birthday Surprise 2.  We did this last year and it was a hit, so we did it again.  Good thing the kiddos sleep so well!

Here they are in their room full of balloons--and Boy were they excited!
after getting dressed, we went right downstair to open presents and eat breakfast before Daddy had to go to work. The first thing they noticed was the table we got them to go with their kitchen and just to have somewhere to sit and play besides on the floor.
Their birthday tree and all their presents :)

Birthday Hats from school doubled as Birthday Tree toppers.

Present Time!
 My Little Pony
 Transformers--Optimus Prime, of course.

 Cinderella Barbie

so excited about his new car track
a new night night book, recorded by Mommy, Daddy and Davis.
the rest of the day was spent playing and taking it easy.  when daddy came home we had a pizza dinner and cupcakes (leftover from their school party) for dessert.   As you can see, cupcakes make for very happy kiddos.
then it was bedtime...had to get plenty of rest for their big PARTY DAY the next morning!

Happy Thanksgiving Again

I need to do a little back blogging...lots of things happen this time of year and I can't keep up!  So here is the rest of our Thanksgiving--well the part that I have pictures of.

It has been 6 years since we had spent Thanksgiving with family, but nothing much had changed (except of course for the addition of 3 little ones).  We had lunch at Moms and then did dinner with Dad's family and then the next night we had dinner at Mike's Dad's house.  That's a lot of Turkey!

We only got pics as Mom's though.  The kids went down for nap that afternoon and woke up feeling pretty sick and then we were basically fighting the sickies for the next few days--that and we were too busy talking and seeing people to pull out the camera. But know we had a great time seeing everyone and it was good to be home and celebrate Thanksgiving with all the family.

Davis and Nana

Davis is ready for his first Thanksgiving meal!

Holden was SO EXCITED to see Uncle Alex.  Alex is the best playmate ever!
Some traditional family pics on the porch.  Holden bit his tongue just as we went out to take these..so excuse his sad face.
