Life in April

Davis trying to be a big boy
these two did a lot of snuggling!
and we snuggle this one whenever we can catch him...after bath time is the best!
wrestling matches commenced...why boys need their daddies!
Davis taking charge of the TV
kids had wacky hair at Awana...i tried really hard to give H a mohawk.  Apparently i need lessons.  So since it wouldn't stand up...it turned into this...which i played off as dinosaur hair...haha.

and 3 braids for Nora.  she wasn't really happy about wacky hair.  she only wanted "pretty" hair.  i had to really convince her that it was okay and she is pretty no matter what.

weather was pretty great, so we spent a lot of time outside

Davis took interest in the potty...although it was short-lived
he also took interest in all of brother's toys while H was away at school.  Shh!  it's a secret :)
Momma and Daddy had a special breakfast with our littlest while the big kids were in school
Davis started taking Snoopy everywhere with him

and he loves to unload the dishwasher...and he's pretty good at it too!
we moved his slide in his room when Daddy got home.  Davis loves it and slides every night before bed.

Museum, Food and Best Friends

You know how much we love to go to Raleigh.  Well we especially love to go with good friends!  This day started off a bit rocky but we made it.  In the morning we got everyone, including 3 adults, 4 preschoolers, 1 toddler and 1 infant loaded into the Expedition, along with a double stroller, packed diaper bags and snacks only 10 minutes behind our planned time to leave...pretty good.  UNTIL we looked down and saw the big flat tire...like sitting on rim, no one is going anywhere kind of flat tire.  So we all piled out...moved the 5 car seats to 2 separate cars...got the kids resettled and hit the road 15 minutes later.  We were DETERMINED to have a fun day.

first stop was the Natural Science Museum in downtown Raleigh.  the big kids watched the shark movie while Hillary took the littles on a walk.
then we entered the special rainforest exhibit.  it was super cool--a maze full of hands-on activities and fun facts to learn.

~ziplining~

How far can YOU jump?
Mike was the winner with a little toes hitting in at 8 feet
Jackie at 4ft
Norabird at 3ft
Holden at 3.5 ft
Hillary with Judah-baby at 3ft :)
and me.... (trying super hard ;) .....
5.5 ft...

then to the normal exhibits to check on the fish, bugs and dinos...

after a fun morning, we went to try out The Roast Grill, a long time Raleigh establishment, known for their hotdogs and featured on Man VS Food.

big kids sittin' at the counter
Judah beggin' for the dogs!
they were okay... not the best hotdog i've ever had, but the place was fun

before heading home we stopped at GiGi's for cupcakes--best way to end the day!

Boppies Season

* i'm determined to catch up even though i'm months behind.  we've done some pretty fun stuff...which is why i got behind to begin with.  Then i've been pretty sick for over 2 months now which has gotten me even more behind. so here i go again...on with April...*

Boppies = Berries in Davis' world.  I live in a berry-loving household...black, blue, raspberries, strawberries... they can't get enough.  Thankfully Pop Pop and Grandma supply us with our black/blueberries-- but for strawberries this spring, we went pickin' for the first time.  We all had a good time but i think Nora enjoyed it the most. She insisted that she fill up her entire bucket by herself...with no help!

meow wanted to come too, so we worked out a hand's free option

we thought the plants and davis would be safer if he just rode along for the majority of this trip

we did let D do a little picking at the end :)
she was so proud of herself!

we we got home it was time to make cake!
look how yummy it turned out!
