The Day Davis Turned 2

well..lets start the night before....his last night of being one...tear.
except there were no tears in this cabin, just a whole lotta laughs and good memories :)

there was quite a bit of wrestling
and bear hugging

his last night of being one, all tucked in with his bed friends

and then the next morning, my very sleepy two year old still sleeping like a baby.
i kept trying to get him to say "i'm two".... instead i got this pose...i think he was exercising and this was his "2" pose, haha.

Before heading to the apple orchard, we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  The intent was to get candles in our pancakes, but they didn't have any candles.  We still sang and did presents though :)

Then that night, almost home from our trip we stopped for dinner and tried to get a candle again...and don't you know this restaurant doesn't do candle either! still we all enjoyed a skillet cookie and ice cream.

Even if he didn't get to blow any candles out, i still think we had a pretty great day.

Oh Christmas Tree

We had a decorating party a few weeks ago.  Pop Pop and Grandma came to help out so it wouldn't take me weeks to get done.  With a couple more hands helping hang ornaments and 2 hands specifically watching a busy little 1 year old, the tree was finished in record time this year!

There's No Place Like MC

(stealing a line from freshman cornhusking...)
before it's officially winter, which is ten days away, i should put up this beautiful fall post.  Heidi, a friend from college who now lives in Washington state, came back to visit about a month ago.  Those of us who could got together for the day to hang out and catch up.  Our first stop was visiting Meredith.  I haven't been there in years and have never taken the kids there.  It was a beautiful, cool, fall day...the perfect time to walk around the campus.  The kids really seemed to like being there, running around and playing in the leaves.

We happened to come visit the day after Cornhusking, so everything was still up from the events that week.  It brought back lots of memories and made me really miss all the fun we had at MC.

Nora's birth-year doll, wearing what looks like some Lilly Pulitzer
i love the older doll sand their beautiful dresses!

then we went to Dee's house for all the kids to play and Mommy/Friends to talk ...our kiddo group is getting bigger!
