A Face For Everything

Nora was in such a super good mood when meeting in Alex. She was totally animated and cracking us all up...i couldn't resist posting all of these pictures!

Day 3

Monday was a very full day for us although it started kind of slow. Mike and I work up this morning and looked at the clock to see that it was 10 am. My first thought was "the babies!" --and they were FINE...just slept for 15 hours is all! What's even funnier is that they went back down after being up an hour because they were tired again. I know it is just the jet-lag...but WOW!

I ran out and got us some good ole chick-fil-a and my brother Alex met us for lunch. It was his first time meeting the babies and i just want to say that they were in such GREAT moods! I'll devote a whole blog to Nora and Alex later. Anyway it was really good to see him and it seemed that both he and the babes were having a great time.
After lunch with Alex, we all went to Dad's shop so he could do my hair. "Yes", i still wait to get my hair cut when i come home so Dad can do it. I've tried a few different people in Hawaii, but i can't ever get the cut that i want. Dad does it best, and its worth the wait. While Dad did my hair, Mike and the babies played together on the floor. Grandma Anne was able to get off of work early and come play too

Then we went back to my mom's house to see Great-Grandpa Williams for a little bit. While waiting on him Daddy and the babies played in the floor again and Mommy took some fun pics. I really do just love watching Mike with the babies. He's the best Daddy ever!

Then, YES THERE'S MORE, Nanny Katie came to see us! She arrived just in time for bath, feeding and bed so she helped get them ready and gave Daddy a little break that night. Night time routines are always pretty busy and we failed to get any pictures of Katie with the babies, but i know there will be some more before we leave. After bedtime, Nana took over baby duty and let Mommy and Daddy go out with Tim and Katie to eat at one of our most anticipated restaurants, SAN FELIPES!
We definitely didn't forget to take a picture of this fine moment...however i could hardly contain myself from digging in!

Me with my sweet friend Katie!
and then one with her newest addition "June"...June really didn't like me too much!

Day 2

As I mentioned in the previous blog, the babies surprisingly slept great their first night in NC--13 hours great--and we are the ones who had to wake them up! We were very thankful since Mommy and Daddy were SUPER TIRED as well.

Sunday morning we all woke up and got ready to go to Oakhurst with Mom and Scott. It was good to see some old friends and give Mom the chance to show off the babies. Of course Mom added herself to nursery duty because "she knows their routine" :) We all know the real reason is that Nana wants to be with our cute kiddos as much as she can!

After church we went to have lunch at my dads house. Grandpa and Grandma Caudle were very happy to hang out with the babies. Holden flashing his killer grin

...its hard to tell here, but Holden really thinks this is funny
this is the "drool on brother" part

We love our little boy!
After visiting with the grandparents, we picked up some yummy Sir Pizza and took it to our friends Jonas and Neelie's house. Their daughter, Dallyn, was born on March 10. Neels and I have been friends since we were kids and we are exactly 3.5 months a part. That is the same age difference as our kids would have been if the twins were born on time. It was so good to see them and meet little Dallyn!
We waited a little late to take pictures and Holden was tired and hungry here, we will try to get back together for a better picture before I leave--but this one is pretty cute

Day 1

I am not sure how to keep track of our outings on the blog other than just listing our happenings day by day. So forgive the boring blog titles, after long days of visiting people and running around, my creativity is zapped by the time i sit down to blog.

The babies have been spending their last few days meeting lots of new people. Someone suggested i keep a running tally of all the new people they have met, but if i was supposed to do that I would already have an "F" since i lost count on Day 2 at our church.

But anyway on our first day in NC, not long after we got off the plane, we already got to see lots of people and the babies had some very important introductions. They first met my college friend Lacey who brought some baby essentials to the airport for us. We have plans to spend more time with her and her new baby boy Carter next week.

When we arrived at my moms house in Asheboro, Great-Grandpa Williams was at the house waiting on us. Right away we filled his arms full of babies! As always, Holden was pretty chill and Nora was super curious about who that new person holding her was!

Also that night, Grandpa Sam and Grandma Lora came to visit. It was way past the babies bed time (ie they were pretty grumpy) so it was a short visit. The babies have plans to play with Grandpa much more later in the week.

After all the flying and excitement of meeting new people, the babies went right to bed and slept all the way until 8:30 the next morning! We were worried about what the time change would do to the babies schedules, but so far it's not been so bad!

I Would Fly 5000 Miles.....

and i prolly wouldn't fly 5000 more.... if i didn't have to!

Well, there was certainly a lot of build up, preparation and anticipation for our flight home..at least on my part. I really was a bit nervous about how the babies would do. I mean lets face it, the flight to hawaii isn't exactly fun for an adult, much less a 5 month old, but all in all I think the babies did very well.

The first flight was a red-eye and we hoped the babies would sleep good because of it-- and Nora did--so 1 out of 2 isn't too bad. We had a bassinet for her that hooked to the wall in front of my seat. Since Nora is the more finicky of the two, we thought it best to give her the bed and it worked great! We wrapped her up like normal and then put her in the bassinet and she slept the enitre flight.
Holden on the other hand didn't have it so well. Mike and I took turns holding him, he squirmed and whined quite a bit and didn't seem to be able to get into a deep sleep. Because we had 2 lap babies, Mike and I were not allowed to sit next to each other in a flight. The rule has to do with the number of oxygen masks avaliable per row. Anyway, thankfully we both had good seat neighbors that didn't seem to be irritated by the babies. I even made friends with one of my neighbors--she lives in my neighborhood with 2 small children and we have plans to take some walks together when we I get back.
By the 2nd leg of our trip the babies were both pretty irritable and tired--good news this flight was only 2.5 hours as opposed to the 8 hr flight from Honolulu to Houston, so it was over fairly quickly. While waiting to board the plane the babies were quite upset and we had lots of stares. I am ceratin all those people were praying they wouldn't be near us on the flight. They did eventually calm down though and Mike even had a couple of people tell him how good the babies were. I guess they were expecting the worst!
So yeah, all in all it wasn't too bad--it's just much different and WAY more tiring with kiddos tagging along! But i guess those stinkers worth it!
