Church Camp: Day 2

Our first night of sleep was not too great. Well the boys slept well...Nora was restless and noisy and whined throughout most of the night, which kept me up. I think she was a bit uncomfortable with the heat and humidity, once i pulled out the fan and got it going in her room she quieted down...that was at like 4:30 am...so Momma got pretty much NO sleep.

The rest of the day was super fun--full of good friends, games, relaxing, the beach and a nice 3 hour nap for the babies amidst all the noise from the other campers. Camping really wears them out!

Church Camp: Day 1

Our annula church camp is at Malaekahana State Park in Laie. It's about as far from our house as you can get and still be on the island--a whole one hour drive! Church camp is one of our favorite things to do here, but we missed the last 2 years because of pregnancy and mike deploying, so it was great to get back to camp this year!

We didn't get to camp until late afternoon because of naps and last minute errands, but with the help of some of the youth, our house-sized tent and 2 carloads of stuff was all unloaded and set up within an hour.

What Nora Thinks About Her Daddy

So I drew this picture today with Nora...going over body parts and whatnot...when i finished she immediately pointed at it and exclaimed "Dada!" Then at dinner tonight we were all going over animal sounds as a family. Sometimes we'll joke about what each other says too...like Nora says "grrr" and Holden says "cookie" and Momma says "kiss me" ....I asked what Daddy says and Nora exclaims, "Meow!"

We're actually camping this weekend...supposedly for 2 nights, although the weather says there will be rain. we'll see what happens.

but i would never leave you without a blog to read! so in honor of our usual Saturday Morning routine, here are some pics from last weekend's McDonald's trip.

The kiddos had been sick and we all got out of bed pretty late...late enough that we didn't actually make McD's breakfast. Oops. So instead they had their first Happy Meals! I believe Mike and I were actually much more excited about this than they were. They got chicken nuggets, milk, apples and french fries. Neither one even wanted their french fries. haha. totally didn't get that from me or mike! they also got smurfs. i'm pretty sure if i went digging through my old laundry basket of happy meal toys, i would find an toy identical to the one we got last week. When did i miss that Smurfs were back in?

Anyway, that's it really. Think of us while we are out camping with 2 silly little ones--and pray for some good weather for us please!

BREAKING NEWS ALERT!!

Mike just made the CW3 Promotion List! So sometime between now and May

close to 1000 people are going to be promoted to either CW3, 4 or 5. Mike is number #212. So hopefully, he'll be pinned by Christmas.

Mike--I'm so proud of you and all the hard work you've put in. You are truly deserving.

I'm A Failure...

...when it comes to getting things in the mail on time. it's an ongoing problem that has only gotten worse with the birth of my kids. what once used to be just a issue of procrastination and avoidance of the dreaded post office crowds...now add dragging 2 kids in and out of the building, entertaining them while waiting in line, dealing with crowding from a stroller that doesn't quite fit in the line or the other evil...keeping 2 toddlers still and not running around the room while we wait...it's totally not my thing.

hence the 8 boxes and 2 envelopes i am carried in the PO today. These have been piling up in the corner of our dining area for a couple of months now-- at least it's done, and hopefully i won't have to go back for a while!

SuperBaby

So right before going to bed this silly girl brought me her swim diaper and begged me to put it on her...so i did what any momma would have done...put it on her and put her to bed. i mean, i say any extra protection is welcome--and she sure is darn cute!
