The Falcons

I mentioned soccer in an earlier post--but here's the synopsis of our first season playing soccer--or any sport for that matter.

first of all, the kids had fun and that's what matters to us, especially at their age.  just look how cute they are in their team jersey's on their first game day!

The rest of my opinions are a not quite as good.  We played with the soccer league on base.  I was less than happy with their lack of organization (amongst other things) and next time we will be searching off base for a different league.

The twins missed qualifying for the 4 yr old league by ONE DAY.  (and don't get me started on how i tried to sign them up last fall and i was told they were too young!) So they played an a 6 yr old team.  Most of the kids had played at least 3 seasons and absolutely knew what they were doing.  The twins were basically lost--not getting any of the basic beginner instruction and the coach didn't seem to really care.  I'm not sure they ever really understood the game and they definitely aren't aggressive so they never touched the ball.  On the bright side...they got good exercise running around the field.

All of that being said, we didn't arrange all of plans to make every game--we actually only made about half.  I'm pretty sure their team, the falcons, won almost every game though because we had some pretty amazing little players on our team.  All in all, it was an interesting learning experience--and we're hoping our next team sport (hopefully t-ball this spring) goes better.

here's some other pics from games

and here is a funny video of Nora being goalie.... probably the highlight of the season for us :) typical Nora fashion...celebrating her one good deed and missing everything happening around her!
