Good friends are hard to come by and that has become so much more apparent as i have moved away and gotten older. It really is special to be able to say you've known someone for so long and still are a part of each other's lives. That's my Katie. She's pretty much been around for it all and I love that about her. We just spent the past week laughing, crafting, and lovi non the babies--I loved having her here and i wish that we weren't always so far away!
I wanted to post a few old pics of us, but being that i knew her before the "digital age", older pics were hard to come by (yes, i was too lazy to go search through albums and scan them). Anyway here's what i have. It was hard to choose my favorites because they all bring back good memories, so i just included them all. enjoy.
Highschool 1999: Freshman Year Geometry Class
African Women 2002:
No, we didn't use black makeup on our skin...we are really just that tan

(yeah right!)
I have always liked this picture--someone captured our slave labor saturday's as Caswell--picking weeds. Maybe this is what spurred Katie's love for gardening?

She's making me laugh when i got nervous and started crying...this is also right before the Big Booty outbreak which became a requirement at all other weddings thereafter

Hawaii 2006: Beach Boys Concert
She came to stay for a while when we first moved to HI. It was great to have a friend around in a place where i didn't know anyone else but my busy working husband.
