For the past 6 months the twins have been fed solely breastmilk. After 6 months, our plan was to wait for them to show signs that they are interested in eating. Right on cue, while we were home they started really watching us while we would eat and even reach out to grab our food. So once we got back home we decided to try some bananas and see how it goes.
Here they are checking out their bananas and here are the first bites...
..thinking about it
..thinking about it
...and wanting NOTHING to do with it
so...after all that build-up....Round One for the banana was a FAIL.
I really didn't expect much, i am quite aware that they need to get used to the texture, but man the reaction to the banana was brutal. Holden actually gagged each time it was in his mouth--which was pitiful, funny and gross all at the same time. Nora on the other hand did not at all understand the importance of opening her mouth in order to eat. So I'll leave you with this video and hopefully will post Round 2 tomorrow!

Excellent Nonverbal communication. However, repetition might be the key. We must have watched Thomas the Train over, and over and over, ...Well you get the picture. Thanks sooo much for sharing.Love Auntie Beth
